Amendments to the Labour Code and to other related legislation

On  September 4, 2019, Laws No. 93/2019 and 90/2019 were published in Diario da Republica, amending the Labour Code, the Contributory Regime Code and other related legislation. The amendments introduced by Law 93/2019 will come into force on 1 October, without prejudice some situations for which the law provides specific rules on their application in time. Most of the amendments introduced by Law 90/2019 relating to the parenting protection regime come into force with the 2020 State Budget, without prejudice to some of them coming into force on October 4.
