HAAG partner Henrique Abecasis was part of the team of lawyers that helped Angola win a lawsuit brought by Aenergy in a US Court, based on the allegation that Angola has wrongfully terminated contracts for the construction and maintenance of power plants in Angola and that it does not respect the rule of law and does not meet the conditions to conduct a fair trial in its own country. The American Court would end up declaring itself incompetent to rule the lawsuit, rejecting the thesis presented by Aenergy in the sense that the case should be judged in the US Courts.
